A large Shiva temple near Poompuhar that is the Navagraha shrine of Budha (Mercury). It is a Paadal Petra Sthalam, and fine Chola bronzes, including a celebrated Ardhanarishvara, were found in the village.

The temple has three sacred tanks and separate shrines for Shiva, the goddess, Budha and the fierce Aghora Murthy. Its hymns by the Tevaram saints make it a Paadal Petra Sthalam. Bronzes found buried here in the 20th century are among the best-known Chola metal images.
