A Shiva temple near Thiruvaiyaru that is the Navagraha shrine of Chandra, the moon. It is also linked with the Nayanar saint Appudhi Adigal, a devotee of Appar.
HistoryDocumented history
The temple is a modest Chola-period shrine in the delta west of Thanjavur. Pilgrims on the Navagraha circuit come here to pray to Chandra, whose image stands in the temple. The village is also the home of Appudhi Adigal, one of the 63 Nayanars.
