A stone temple at Sringeri built in 1338 over the memorial of the sage Vidyashankara Tirtha, a pontiff of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Its twelve hall pillars are carved with the signs of the zodiac, and the sun's rays are said to fall on each one in its month.

The temple stands beside the Sharadamba temple on the bank of the Tunga. Its plan is apsidal at both ends, and it mixes Hoysala and Dravida styles. The founders of Vijayanagara, Harihara and Bukka, were guided by Vidyaranya, a disciple of Vidyashankara.
