15ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் மணவாள மாமுனிகளின் சீடரால் நிறுவப்பட்ட வானமாமலை மடம் இங்குள்ளது. திருமேனி தானே தோன்றியது (ஸ்வயம்வ்யக்தம்) எனக் கூறப்படுகிறது; அத்தகைய எட்டு விஷ்ணு தலங்களில் ஒன்று.
