A rare temple where Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma are all worshipped with their consorts. Here Shiva is said to have been freed from the skull of Brahma that stuck to his hand.

The temple stands just north of Srirangam. Uniquely, it holds shrines to Vishnu as Purushottama, Shiva as Bhikshatana and Brahma, each with his consort, so it is called the Trimurti temple.
Sthala PuranaTradition
Shiva cut off one of Brahma's five heads, and the skull stuck to his hand as an alms bowl that could never be filled. At Karambanur Lakshmi, as Poornavalli, filled it with food and the skull fell away.
