A hilltop temple of Chamunda on Chotila hill, reached by about 600 steps, by the highway between Ahmedabad and Rajkot. It is one of the most visited goddess shrines in Saurashtra.

Chotila hill rises from the flat plains of Saurashtra, and the temple on its summit can be seen from far away. The goddess is worshipped as two faces, Chamunda and Chandi. The steps are lit at night and crowded at Navaratri.

Chanda and Munda, generals of the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, attacked the goddess. She took a fierce form and killed them both, earning the name Chamunda, as told in the Devi Mahatmya.
